Reading article about legality of car modifications from local newspaper.

Things I learned:

1. People aren't sure if multi tone paint jobs are legal or not.

2. Air deflector wing is common name for spoiler.

3. Cars that look like they came from the first Fast and the Furious movies are still cool.

I never understood why people think that modified cars all have to look like they came out of Fast & Furious. Those always look hideous. I personally like the OEM look but a bit more. . . that's the best way I can explain it. You know stuff like this.

I like what people call OEM+. The sort of cars that have a mild drop on good suspension components, nice but not flashy wheels. Maybe some mild bodywork like a small front splitter. Then some good performance mods. Basically the type of car you posted.

I also really like road cars turned into racecars. That type of modifying sits right with me.

That too. I have strange wants for some older touring cars. Especially when they're based on normal family sedans you see every day.

Maybe it's partly because of F&F. The first movie exposed people who weren't into cars to car culture so when they think about modified cars they think about those movies. They haven't noticed the move to more subtle modifications because subtly modified cars don't scream 'modified' to them.

It's because they want to drive a car that screams "LOOK AT ME" but can't afford a Ferrari let alone a chromed out Ferrari.

Talk about hitting the nail on the head. I want. I want. I want. I love the engine in this car. Too bad in stock form its fwd and would need rear drive conversion.

I've loved the look of the mondeo since my grandad had a zetec one with the low spoiler and the nice wheels. Then when I saw them racing in touring cars I was hooked on them. I could live with the FWD provided it was set up properly.

I am alright with that, I just don't like the conotation that comes with modifying a car. Some people just want a race car.

Yeah I agree. Beautiful body lines. I thought the Mondeo pictured above was rwd. But either way, the car is awesomely amazing

I think they have to stay close to stock body shell so likely FWD. Could be wrong though. But yeah agreed, very good looking for a run of the mill car.
